Basic Negation
Kurz erklärt
To make a simple Spanish statement negative, place no directly before the conjugated verb. Unlike English, Spanish does not add an auxiliary such as do or does. The verb keeps the form required by its subject.
Bildung
subject + no + conjugated verb + rest of the sentence
Verwendung
- Use no to deny a fact or say that an action does not happen.
- If the subject is stated, it normally comes before no.
- Keep no immediately before the conjugated verb.
Beispiele
- No trabajo los domingos. — I don’t work on Sundays.
- Ella no vive aquí. — She doesn’t live here.
- No tenemos tiempo. — We don’t have time.
