B2Further studyLatin American Spanish

Kurz erklärt

The future perfect (futuro perfecto or futuro compuesto) presents an action as already completed by a future point. It is useful when looking back from the future. It can also express a guess about something that has probably happened recently.

Bildung

Future tense of haber + past participle: habré, habrás, habrá, habremos, habrán + hablado/comido/vivido. The participle does not change for gender or number.

Verwendung

  • Use it for an action that will be complete before a stated future time or another future event.
  • Use it to make a conjecture about a recent event or a present result when the speaker is not certain.

Beispiele

  • Para mañana, habré terminado el informe. — By tomorrow, I will have finished the report.
  • Cuando llegues, ya habremos cenado. — When you arrive, we will already have eaten dinner.
  • Para 2030, ustedes habrán vivido aquí diez años. — By 2030, you will have lived here for ten years.
  • No contesta; habrá salido de casa. — She isn’t answering; she has probably left home.

Typischer Fehler

❌ Para mañana, habré terminar el informe.

✅ Para mañana, habré terminado el informe.

After the future form of haber, use a past participle such as terminado, not an infinitive such as terminar.

Merke

The future meaning is carried by haber; the main verb is always a past participle. With haber, that participle remains unchanged.
