Adjective Agreement
Kurz erklärt
In Spanish, an adjective normally agrees with the noun it describes in gender and number. A masculine singular noun takes a masculine singular adjective, while a feminine or plural noun requires the corresponding form. Adjectives ending in -e or many consonants usually have the same masculine and feminine form, but they still change for the plural.
Bildung
Usually: -o (masculine singular), -a (feminine singular), -os (masculine or mixed plural), -as (feminine plural). For adjectives ending in -e or many consonants, add -s or -es for the plural: interesante → interesantes; fácil → fáciles.
Verwendung
- Match the adjective to the noun’s grammatical gender, even when the noun refers to an object.
- Use a plural adjective when the noun is plural.
- Use the masculine plural form for a group containing masculine and feminine nouns.
