Verb complements with à and de
Kurz erklärt
Many French verbs require à or de before their complement. The correct preposition belongs to the verb pattern and often cannot be predicted from English, so learn the verb together with its preposition. For example, penser à means ‘to think about,’ while parler de means ‘to talk about.’

Merke
Learn each verb as a complete pattern, such as penser à or décider de. Check the pattern rather than translating the English preposition word for word.
