Adjetivos y adverbios

Adjetivos superlativos

A1EsencialInglés

En inglés, normalmente se usa the antes del superlativo: the tallest, the most interesting.

Formación

Adjetivos cortos: the + adjetivo + -est (small → the smallest). Adjetivos largos: the most + adjetivo (expensive → the most expensive). Formas irregulares frecuentes: good → the best; bad → the worst.

Uso

  • Para destacar un elemento dentro de un grupo: Maya is the youngest in her family.
  • Se usa in con lugares o grupos y of con un conjunto específico: the best in town; the tallest of the three.

Ejemplos

  • This is the cheapest hotel in the city.
  • Leo is the tallest of the three brothers.
  • Today is the hottest day of the week.
  • That was the best meal here. — Esa fue la mejor comida de aquí.

Error típico

❌ Leo is the most tall in his family.

✅ Leo is the tallest in his family.

Recuerda

Usa normalmente the antes del superlativo. No combines most con la terminación -est.
