Simple Present: abitudini e fatti
In breve
Il Simple Present descrive abitudini, routine e fatti generalmente veri. Si usa anche per dire cosa piace o non piace. Parole come every day, usually e often aiutano a riconoscere le abitudini.
Formazione
Con I, you, we, they: verbo nella forma base (I work). Con he, she, it: aggiungi -s o -es (she works, he watches); dopo consonante + y, usa -ies (she studies). Per negare: do not (don’t) o does not (doesn’t) + forma base. Per chiedere: Do o Does + soggetto + forma base?
Uso
- Per routine e abitudini: I walk to school every day.
- Per fatti generali: Water freezes at 32°F.
- Per gusti e preferenze: She likes coffee.
Esempi
- I take the bus to work every day. — Vado al lavoro in autobus ogni giorno.
- My brother works in a store. — Mio fratello lavora in un negozio.
- She doesn’t drink coffee. — Lei non beve caffè.
- Do you play soccer on Saturdays? — Giochi a calcio il sabato?
Errore tipico
❌ She work in a store.
✅ She works in a store.
Con he, she e it, nella frase affermativa il verbo prende -s. Dopo doesn’t, invece, resta la forma base: She doesn’t work.
Da ricordare
Con he, she e it la -s va sul verbo affermativo, ma non dopo does o doesn’t.
